from Author Valerie Marsh

Program image

First, sit back and enjoy a funny paper-cutting story about a turkey who looses all his feathers. Then, based on Valerie's 'secrets' for a good story, your students combine art, creativity and writing skills to create a character and give him or her a 'problem,' Author Valerie Marsh continues her discussion of writing 'secrets' and your students use their art and math skills to draw a story about a turkey. This story has a surprise ending! Every student will feel confident enough to retell our Turkey stories to someone he or she loves. We conclude with "Give Me Back My Diamond Ring!" This turkey tricks the King into giving back his ring!
